Forbes Library is pleased to announce the opening of Sam’s Café in the library’s front lobby on March 2-2009
Sam’s Café will offer an assortment of coffees, teas, cold beverages, as well as variety of snacks and sandwiches. The café will be open Monday thru Saturday and will mirror the library’s hours.
Owner Samantha Ross, has been operating the original Sam’s Café at the Smith College Museum of Art since 2005. Ross has over 25 years of food service experience. The café will use recycled paper products, locally roasted fair-trade coffee, and fresh local ingredients.
“We are pleased to be working with Sam’s Café because she serves great food and beverages!” said Forbes director, Janet Moulding.
More than half of respondents to a survey said that a café was very important to them. With over 600 people visit the library every day, many of them will be happier to linger over their business… if they can have their coffee, too!” said Moulding.
It will be the only cafe in town to feature oak and chestnut paneling, soaring ceilings and free loans of DVDs, books and magazines. Just a short walk from downtown this exciting collaboration offers a new choice for café goers. The library has recently seen a 20% increase in foot traffic, and the collaboration between Forbes and local entrepreneur Samantha Ross is sure to bring more success.
