Brighter Than The Sun

You look my way,
But I have to look away.

Because I know you are the one,
So much brighter than the sun.

If I caught even a glimpse in my eye,
It's enough to make me liquefy.

They say love is blind,
For me it's true, hopelessly unkind.

Between us, it's always this way,
But not for the reasons which they usually say.

For even the darkness of a mole,
Is transcended by you celestial soul.

As your radiant reverie,
Sparkles brighter than any envious galaxy.

Yet, I am content with my sight averted,
The effect of your light, too bright, inverted.

Then, you catch me unguarded,
With all of my defenses down, discarded.

You press your mouth to mine,
In a kiss, eyes wide-open, divine.

And I try as I might,
To keep from scalding straight through my sight.

But I cannot avoid your eclipse,
As you impress lightly your lips.

Thus, without choice, having only a must,
Irises uncover and pupils adjust.

So I can finally look upon the one,
Who is so much brighter than the sun.

While that other pale star,
Wanes quietly from afar.
